Saturday
Prayerful Acts of Kindness
Read: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
On Saturday pray for your neighborhood. Ask God to show you the ways in which you can be a blessing to your neighbors. Here are a few ideas you can use to combine acts of kindness with prayer for your neighbors.
As a family, or with your parents permission, offer to mow the lawn for an elderly neighbor. While you are mowing, pray for him/her. Offer to baby-sit for a young mother who needs a rest. While you are babysitting, pray for the family. When a neighbor child is ill, take a book, a toy or even a video over to them and while you are there pray for him/her. (You don't always have to pray aloud.) Learn to LISTEN to the Lord as well as to those for whom you pray.
